Meet the team

Imagine That Productions draws together a cast of amateur performers to work with professional musicians, stage management and production teams, putting together shows of the highest quality. Leading the team and working with the cast from start to finish are Philip and Amanda O’Brien.

Philip O’Brien – Director

Philip O’Brien studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, becoming a Wolfson Scholar and winning the Patrick Libby prize for Acting. He now combines his international solo career with teaching at Haslemere Singing Studio and directing shows for Imagine That Productions. As a director he excels at bringing out the best in his performers, putting them at ease on stage and helping them to capture the imaginations of their audience.

Tom Wilson – Stage Manager

Tom has worked as a Stage Manager for over 10 years. His partnership with Philip O’Brien began in 2005 when they worked on Franz Lehar’s  Merry Widow, Richard Strauss’ Die Fledermaus (The Bat) and Gilbert & Sulivan’s Pirates of Penzance at King Edward’s School Witley. This will be Tom’s 3rd  summer show as Stage Manager with Philip as Director since 2013 and his first time working on The Mikado. When not working in the theatre, Tom is studying for a PhD in Physics at Imperial College London (second year) and enjoys playing the guitar in his spare time.

Amanda O’Brien – Company Manager

A classically-trained mezzo-soprano, Amanda O’Brien combines a busy teaching schedule with performances around the UK. She currently teaches not only at Haslemere Singing Studio but also at schools around the Haslemere area. Like Philip she has a passion for drama as well as singing and she brings that experience to her work with Imagine That Productions.
